About the Artist

Art has been a lifelong passion for Patricia. Drawing since childhood, she first picked up a paintbrush at the age of eight when she moved to Hawaii and yearned to capture the breathtaking beauty and vivid colors of the tropical flowers, the cliffs, the ocean and mountains. She went on to earn a bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University with further studies in Graphic Arts at Oklahoma State University, Tulsa Technology Center, Electronic Publishing Image Consultants, and Penn Well Publishing.

Patricia has been involved in the arts community in Sarasota since 1997, joining the Art Center of Sarasota, the Sarasota County Arts Council, the Ringling Museum of Art, the Advertising Federation of the Sun Coast, the Digital Fine Art Association, and the Chamber of Commerce.

Patricia has built up a reputation for quality work, winning several Addys (Advertising Federation awards) including a Gold Addy for T. J. Carney's restaurant menu, and being selected three years running to design the annual poster for the Venice Art Festival. She has also created interior renderings for the Symphony Association '99 Designers Showcase, and pen and ink sketches of the Selby Gardens Mansion and the Pelican Man's Bird Sanctuary, as well as architectural renderings in watercolor for Lakewood Ranch, University Park, Longboat Key Moorings and more.

As an award winning artist/illustrator who creates artwork for organizations, businesses, graphic designers, publishers, ad agencies, and individuals, she specializes in pen and ink, and watercolor portraits of homes and businesses, meticulously created in a realistic manner with an old-world feel.

Commanding the use of the artist's pen and watercolors Patricia Vandivort expresses her gift of seeing the beauty found in architecture. Builders and Developers have utilized her talents in bringing their creations alive. Interior Designers have showcased their work through Patricia's stokes of love. Businesses have spotlighted their building in an artful drawing. Realtors have commissioned Patricia to render a client's home, so they could present it as a gift in appreciation.
